Baithak is a concept visualized by the world-renowned Tabla artist and composer Sarvar Sabri. Originally from New Delhi, Sarvar settled in Birmingham and continued to spread his music globally. Over the years, he discovered several artists and talents within the UK and abroad with limited opportunities to share their artistry. Furthermore, there were many others with a passion for the arts who wished to learn and develop their understanding in music, poetry, dance, and theatre. It was evident there was a real need to support talent and the development of the arts. In 2010, Sarvar launched Baithak, a creative forum to present new and undiscovered talents alongside renowned and established artists. Baithak provides performance platforms, opportunities to train and appreciate the arts, and nurtures talents in Indian music, dance, theatre and poetry. It celebrates the cultural heritage of the Indian sub-continent through the authentic style of presenting artistries in warmhearted gatherings. These gatherings inspire artist and audience interaction creating an elating experience for all.

In addition to presentations, a creative congregation meets every Friday evening to learn, practice, and share music and poetry; stimulate artistic ideas; and enjoy home cooked food! Baithak is a generous and family-friendly environment that encourages people of all ages to relish Indian arts and culture.

Baithak welcomes people with a passion for the arts; those who wish to further their understanding or training; or wish to present their work.
